Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Renting a Vehicle
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Wallington, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur extra charges. A valid driving licence that corresponds to the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Wallington office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with transactions securely handled by trusted payment processors.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, you are required to conduct a comprehensive inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed by both parties. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and billed accordingly. It is important to return the vehicle with the same fuel level as received; refueling charges will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may incur additional fees, so please inform us immediately if you anticipate returning the vehicle later than agreed. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, alongside an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Coverage
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Details on coverage and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability, so reviewing these is beneficial. You will be liable for damages or losses up to the excess amount, unless you opt for extra coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Changes and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky endeavors is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to unauthorized individuals is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle must be used only for its intended purposes and within designated passenger or weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior approval.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Wallington will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits or data, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be capped at the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
Governing Law in Wallington
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in these regions.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Continuing to use our services indicates your agreement to the revised Terms.
